Even in the middle of the great outdoors, we believe you should have a chance to slow down, indulge, and enjoy a little luxury. Our Wild Picnic is all about finding a quiet spot in the Scottish landscape, raising a glass, and taking a moment to soak it all in. Think tartan blankets, rustic table settings, delicious local treats, and a little something sweet to finish.
Conor is your personal picnic stylist, bartender, and barista for the day! He’ll find the perfect spot, set everything up, and take care of all the little details so you can simply enjoy the experience. Of course, this is Scotland, and the weather doesn’t always cooperate. If it’s particularly wet or chilly, we’ll bring the picnic into the comfort of the Grenadier instead. Same treats, same drinks, same special moment… just a little cosier!
Available with our Highlands and Coastal Experiences, the Wild Picnic features a gourmet grazing platter filled with delicious meats, cheeses, and accompaniments sourced from our local cheesemonger. Think artisan cheeses, cured meats, crackers, and tasty little extras, all laid out for you to graze on at your own pace while taking in those incredible Scottish views.
Have dietary requirements, allergies, or simply a few things you’d rather not eat? No problem! We can easily adapt your platter to suit your preferences, so there’s something delicious for everyone. After all, the whole point is to enjoy yourselves.
A taste of Scotland
Something sweet…
No proper celebration is complete without cake! We’ll pick up a little creation from our local bakery, giving you something sweet to share in the middle of your Scottish adventure. Vanilla and chocolate are always favourites, but if you fancy something a little different, we’ve also had lemon and blueberry, carrot cake, and red velvet. Delicious!
Our standard cake is a petite little number made for two, perfect for sharing a few bites between adventures. Bringing guests along? We can size it up to make sure there’s enough to go around. It’s a small detail, but cutting into a lovely little cake in the middle of the Highlands feels pretty special.
and something to sip!
Naturally, we’ll have a chilled bottle of Champagne ready for you to pop open and toast your newly married status. Or, we can easily swap Champagne for your preference of beverage, like Nosecco, craft beer, soft drinks, or anything else you’d prefer.
And because Scotland can be a little wild, we also keep hot drinks ready for the journey between locations. Whether you fancy a freshly made coffee, a proper cup of tea, or a warming hot chocolate, Conor will have you covered. There’s nothing like wrapping your hands around a hot cup of coffee after running around the glen!
Afternoon tea in Edinburgh
For our City Experience, we swap the outdoor picnic for something a little more elegant… a traditional Afternoon Tea reservation at one of Edinburgh’s luxury hotels. It’s a fun way to celebrate in the city, with tiered stands of delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones served with jam and clotted cream, and an assortment of miniature cakes and pastries, all accompanied by a pot of your favourite tea and a bottle of Champagne.
It’s the perfect opportunity to escape the bustle of the city, settle into beautiful surroundings, and enjoy a leisurely treat together. Think elegant interiors, delicious bites, and a touch of indulgence — a lovely contrast to the adventure of exploring Edinburgh’s historic streets and hidden corners.
