November 2024“My husband and I just had the most exhilarating, beyond beautiful wedding we could have ever asked for! It was all thanks to MJ and Conor at Scotland Elopement Co. During the wedding planning, it felt like everything in our area was the same, rehashed, overly expensive, and traditional wedding service that most people seek out. Most venues alone in my area are roughly $8k-$10k. On top of the rental, catering, and cake prices... It all just seemed too much. We then discussed the honeymoon and what the plan would be for that. Considering a lot of our money would be spent on a wedding in my home town, we wouldn't get much of a honeymoon. So I figured why not have our wedding and honeymoon in one go!? We were indecisive on where to hold our ceremony, but finally landed on Scotland because I'm a huge Potter Head! It was then that my husband, with his great googling skills, found MJ and Conor's website! We eloped in the states and soon made our way to Scotland! More than just a photographer and wedding planners, these two were full on ready to plan our itinerary for the trip! MJ and Conor were truly a blessing to us! They were in constant communication with us. Extremely patient when I needed extra time to think over decisions. Super helpful when it came to making payments! They also reassured every fear/anxious feeling I had about traveling over seas for the first time! From taking care of the florals and cake, to driving us to our ceremony destination, to even recommending us accommodations and restaurants to try! I do not think I would have ever planned a better wedding for ourselves. I'm literally crying writing this because MJ and Conor are such beautiful and wonderful people! December 2023“MJ and Conor are simply fantastic. During the preparation phase, they guided us through the various possibilities for our elopement ceremony and helped us select something that would fit our desires and budget. They also organized hair and makeup artists, restaurant reservations, and a kilt rental on our behalf, which took significant pressure off of us.
When we set out, our trip was rife with unexpected complications (mostly due to airline delays/cancellations and weather). Thankfully, MJ and Conor were able to quickly and thoughtfully rearrange everything on the fly as needed. During our trip, they also offered ideas and advice outside of what was strictly necessary for the elopement.
Upon meeting them in person, they were warm and friendly and instantly put us at ease. On the day of the ceremony, they kept things fun and low pressure, taking care of transportation, helping with preparation, and generally keeping things on schedule. MJ orchestrated a myriad of photos in picturesque locations, and Conor assisted. Conor’s ceremony was beautifully written and well-spoken.
All in all, you couldn’t ask for a more attentive and thoughtful duo to plan your elopement. If you intend to elope in Scotland, you should absolutely hire MJ and Conor.”

October 2023“A once in a lifetime experience! MJ and Conor were more than we could have dreamed! Every detail was mapped out with care and love. We planned our whole adventure in 4 months. It was such a seamless process. Despite our families not being able to be in attendance, MJ and Conor were like long lost friends. Highly HIGHLY recommend their services. Both are wildly talented, thoughtful, fun, and kind.
The entire process was thought out and there were many options to choose from. It is 100% customizable and they were so adaptable to our vision. We chose to go to the stunning Glencoe. Travel, cake, flowers, photography and officiating were all included in our well priced elopement package. All aspects were handled by MJ and Conor, making our special day extremely relaxed, where we were able to focus on us.
Above all, their genuine guidance through our travels, even beyond our ceremony were invaluable, as this was our first time abroad from the US. Their suggestions were very personalized and realistic, which really calmed our travel nerves.
Our Sneak Peak photos were available two days after the ceremony and were so stunning, both my husband and I shed some tears on the train to Edinburg.

April 2023“My partner and I got in touch with MJ and Conor roughly three months prior to our big day - just the timeframe they suggested for planning. Right off the bat, they were clear and to the point about what we could expect from the process. They even gave us a handy guide that covered everything we needed to know before committing to working together. They made us feel confident in our decision to work with them right away; their kindness and passion for their work were evident in our Discovery Call, as was their expertise.
Completing the contract and making our online payments was very straightforward. Once the contract was signed, we received access to our web portal. The portal was very intuitive and it made the planning process much less daunting. The step-by-step process of the planning questionnaire was enjoyable since it was so clearly laid out that we felt no pressure to complete it with haste. The handbook and the questionnaire allowed us to make our own informed decisions about how we wanted our day to be, and opened our eyes to options that we otherwise wouldn't have considered. Conor and MJ were easily reachable for questions and checked in on us intermittently while we completed our questionnaire.
In preparation for the ceremony, Conor took the time to get to know us and our story, which made it all the more special. We wanted to incorporate some traditions from both of our cultures into the ceremony, and Conor went above and beyond to ensure our ceremony embraced the culturally significant meaning behind them.
MJ and Conor made us feel at home right away. We felt like we were spending the day with good friends, which made being photographed feel effortless and fun.
MJ and Conor are focused on ensuring your special day is all about the two of you. They worked with us to build a custom day-of itinerary that catered to our wants and needs. They even offered to drive us the whole day, which we happily did since we were nervous to drive ourselves on those single-lane Highland roads. Truly, the magic was in the details. Everything was so expertly thought out, and they were so well prepared that it allowed us to enjoy a delightfully fun and carefree elopement day. From the beautifully done ceremony, to the heavenly picnic included our favorite bottle of sparkling wine; our wedding day was absolute perfection, thanks to MJ and Conor. Their creativity and personal touch added so much to our special day. We hope to work with MJ and Conor in the next decade for a vow renewal, and treat ourselves once again to another enchanting day in Scotland.”

Alex and I eloped to Edinburgh from the USA in December of 2022 around Christmas time. MJ was SO extremely helpful and planned everything keeping our personal wants/needs in mind. From the very beginning we were given loads of information on travel, places to stay in the city, locations of the ceremony, celebrant options, traditions, and things to do while in Edinburgh. We were able to plan our week long trip with the information given!
When it came to the ceremony, it was the easiest and least stressful planning process all thanks to MJ. Even from across the ocean, MJ made sure we had many options to choose from and that we were able to get exactly what we wanted.
The day of was an absolute dream. There was no stress for Alex or myself. We were able to get ready at our pace and head to Holyrood park for our ceremony and photos. We then continued our photo session to the Christmas markets. The decorations and festive spirits were the perfect way to end our amazing day.
MJ was so easy to work with and we got amazing sneak peek photos within a day or two capturing some of our favorite moments. Not only is she an outstanding photographer, she is also a genuine and kind person. She went above and beyond making sure our day was amazing, she even stopped by a bakery to get mini cakes and brought hot chocolate and coffee for a picnic before finishing our photo session. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone wishing to have a personalized and intimate ceremony focused on just you.”

October 2022“We were beyond nervous about hiring an elopement planner - we didn’t know what to expect, or what we wanted for our special day. MJ took the time to set up several Zoom meetings - first just to chat and get to know each other, then to business. Not knowing what we wanted kept our minds open - and MJ had so many suggestions! It was a lot of fun going through the ideas together to see what sounded like us. Throughout the almost year of planning, MJ was fantastic at looking into stuff, answering our questions, and setting time aside to meet with us.
Once we got to the day of, MJ had everything planned out. Hair and makeup would arrive at this time, flowers at this time, and photos start at this time. When MJ showed up, everyone was having a great time and smiling. She fit right into the mood and brought good energy with her.
The ceremony went without a hitch - everything was just as MJ had said it would be. The officiant and bagpiper set the scene perfectly and it was truly a magical time. From the ceremony MJ took us on a fun adventure climbing rocks for our portraits and running around Edinburgh for awesome adventure pictures. MJ is such a fun, energetic person to be around that we never once were tired of smiling, or felt like we were ‘just posing’ for our beautiful pictures. Our pictures came out wonderfully - MJ edited and sent us so many, it took us almost a week to go through and really look through them all.
Working with MJ was a wonderful experience. She’s organized and resourceful, and I’d recommend her as a planner to anyone and everyone.”

November 2022“How do I even begin to describe how perfect MJ made my wife and I's elopement? When we first decided we wanted to go to Scotland to elope aaaall the way from Utah in the United States, we felt overwhelmed. How do you plan the most important day of your life from 4,500 miles away? How do you find the only other person that's going to be there with you through your whole wedding day and know you're going to jive together?
As soon as we had our first zoom call with MJ, we weren't worried anymore. First and foremost, she was thorough. She asked us so many questions to get to know us and our love story, what energy we wanted for our special day, the traditions we wanted to do for the ceremony, location ideas, and so many details we hadn't even thought of! She also made us feel relaxed. This didn't have to be stressful, it was exciting! The most exciting day of our lives! She made it feel like the adventure we wanted it to be. She also made us feel seen, and important. When we first started planning, we didn't think we wanted much of anything. Let's just do the vows, sign the papers, and not take up too much of anyone's time. But while working with MJ, she made us feel special and important. She made us feel like we could plan the beautiful, full, perfect, elopement that our love deserved.
So we decided to book not only the elopement ceremony, but also plan an adventure in town! That was the best decision we could have possibly made. MJ was our photographer, yes, (and she did a ridiculously smashing job!) but she also became our friend. She showed us the spots all around town that became our favorite places to visit through our honeymoon, she told us stories and made us laugh, and she truly made our elopement dreams come to fruition, and then made it a million times more amazing than we could've imagined.
We've noticed since talking with other people about their weddings, that not a lot of people get to say their wedding day was perfect (in fact... we've yet to meet anyone else). We are lucky enough to truly tell people that our elopement was PERFECT. Our hearts will never forget the feelings we felt that day, and we forever have the most beautiful pictures to remember the breathtaking sights we took in together. May 2022“MJ was a phenomenal photographer and she delivered an elopement gallery beyond what we had ever expected. From our first meeting and the decision to have MJ as our photographer, we were sure we had made the right choice. The day felt very natural and comfortable, MJ was very easy to chat with and she knew exactly what to do to get the best photos without it feeling like a chore. We enjoyed our day exactly how we wanted, and she captured all of those great memories. During our ceremony we did not even notice how much she was able to document until we received the gallery.
We chose MJ as she had experience with landscape photography and we wanted our photos to capture as much of the landscape that we could. Our photos were exactly what we wanted and more. She nailed all of the great landscapes and gave us so many great photos to look back on. The most difficult part of the entire process is trying to narrow down the photos we want in an album, there are too many fantastic shots.
Beyond her photography skills, MJ was wonderful to work with. We spent two busy days with MJ to visit as many locations as we could and working with her was always a pleasant part of the day. I would recommend MJ based on her professionalism and personality alone, combined with her excellent photography skills I would not even bother to look elsewhere.”

April 2022“MJ photographed our elopement on the Isle of Skye in 2022. It rained all day long, and our plans had to be altered last minute, but quite honestly she made our day the most magical, romantic, fun, exciting and comfortable experience of our entire lives. Not only is she absolutely incredible at capturing the most beautiful candid images of your day, but she is so much more than that, it feels like you are spending your day with a friend you have known for years. The minute you meet her she is so approachable and friendly, no awkwardness or pauses in conversation. My husband absolutely hates having his picture taken, so was apprehensive about this aspect of the day - but he felt so at ease around MJ, she just blends in to the background seamlessly, you forget she even has a camera most of the time!
