No two ceremonies are ever the same…
Conor will guide you through a fun and easy ceremony planning process, including a virtual meeting to chat through all the details and make your ceremony feel completely your own. We’ll ask you to fill out a short questionnaire about your journey as a couple, your life together, first impressions, your favorite activities, and what you love most about each other. Most importantly, the ceremony is built around your story and all the little details that make your relationship unique.
Conor always includes a set of standard promises you can recite during the ring exchange. You can also choose to read your own personal vows if you wish, as many couples do. We can include your vows as part of the main ceremony, or we can save them for a more private moment (which some couples like to do if they are bringing guests).
We can also incorporate Scottish traditions like the quaich or handfasting rituals, or bring in any wedding rituals of your own — from breaking the glass and candle lighting, to poem readings or even Dungeons & Dragons spell casting! If it means something to you, we're all for it.
As part of your ceremony with Conor, he’ll bring you a handful of complimentary accessories to make your experience even more unique and special, including:
Your choice of authentic handfasting tartan;
A vintage pewter quaich; and of course, a splash of Scottish whisky to fill it with (or your preference of alternative beverage);
A ring box to borrow on the day;
Plus a personalised keepsake marriage certificate for you to sign and take home.

The Quaich Ceremony
The Scottish quaich ceremony is a traditional ritual in which a couple shares a drink from a two-handled Scottish loving cup, symbolising trust, unity, and the life they’re beginning together. It’s a meaningful way to honour Scotland’s heritage while celebrating the joining of two lives.
If you opt to include a quaich ritual in your ceremony, Conor will also bring a drink for you to share from the cup. Typically, whisky is used for the quaich, but we have also done Diet Coke, Nosecco, craft beer, or even Irn Bru! Anything you like!
It’s especially fun for ceremonies with guests, as everyone can take part by passing the quaich around and sharing a drink together, creating a meaningful moment of connection and celebration.
At the end of the day, the quaich is yours to keep as a memento from your Scottish elopement. We love the tradition of sharing a dram from ours every year on our anniversary, using a special bottle of whisky that we save just for the occasion!
The Handfast
The Scottish handfasting ceremony is an ancient ritual in which a couple’s hands are bound together with fabric or tartan, symbolising the joining of two lives.
If you opt to include handfasting in your ceremony, we’ll provide authentic tartan strips for you. We can even try to source specific tartan connected to any Scottish family heritage you may have, or you can just pick from the lovely colours in Conor’s collection.
During the ceremony, Conor will wrap the ties around your joined hands, and as you step back from one another, you will form a knot between the two strips. Once the ties are knotted, they’re never to be undone!
At the end of the day, the knotted handfast is yours to keep and take home as a memento of your Scottish elopement. Some of our couples have even framed theirs alongside photographs from their day, creating a lovely little reminder of the promises they made and the adventure they began together.
