A Romantic, Sunny Elopement in Edinburgh During the Christmas Markets

A & J travelled all the way from Alabama to have an intimate elopement in the gorgeous natural landscape of Scotland. Even without leaving Edinburgh, we were able to plan a beautiful, outdoorsy elopement day. J brought tons of personal family pieces to wear and include in their ceremony.
The winter solstice, and shortest day of the year, brought us both wind and sunshine up in Holyrood Park. Backpack packed with hot chocolate and coffee, plus a mini cake to celebrate, we were perfectly equipped for a lovers picnic by the loch after the ceremony. And as big fans of Christmas, we were also able to incorporate some time at the world-famous Edinburgh Christmas markets and a ride on the ferris wheel. A perfect itinerary for a December elopement in Edinburgh.
